Elizabeth, I can relate to this situation! In McCamey, this past year, I had a miserable time with ants. How fun it is to be bitten on the but by an ant while in the bathroom. I had to shake the clothes that I got off the hangers in the closet before putting them on because of the hundred ants that I might encounter there. I left a folded Earth Day T-shirt on the ironing board one night only to find hundreds of ants eating off the lettering on the T-shirt the next morning! I was desperate! Then Papa came to the rescue! He had read about non poisonous ways of getting rid of ants. I was ready for anything. The list of remedies included powdered cinnamon. As a baker and teacher, I had lots of jars of cinnamon; so I poured, not sprinkled the magic potion everywhere. The bathroom being mostly white looked like an old fart had been in there spitting tobacco. I didn’t care. Within 24 hours all ants were gone. The other suggestions on the list were baby powder and cayenne pepper and bay leaf. I can’t be sure that Costa Rica ants would be as responsive and I can only imagine the numbers that you have to deal with daily. Just something that might be worth a try. Love always, Mom
Wow, Donna, what great suggestions!
