Tomorrow morning we are renting a car and heading West into the Central/Northern zone. Our destination is Arenal Volcano and its environs (including hot springs and a lake). Crossing our fingers for some cooler weather and — dare we dream?? — fewer mosquitos…. We shall update there if we can, but if not, expect pictures and a full report on Tuesday.

Yep, now I’m crazy jealous. Always wanted to go to Arenal. If this journey goes well and you’re looking for another, my favorite place was the cloud forest in Monteverde. It may be an impossibility with little ones as the road there was a chunky scree field ten years ago, but if it’s passable it’s well worth the trip.
As always, the pics are great, and we love keeping up with your happenings. Rowan sends Graham a kiss and wants to know if we can come over and play tomorrow. She apparently has nothing for Baby Dean.
